Kingswood Shetlands & Friends offer unique animal experiences through Animal Assisted Interventions AAI and supports the community within Surrey. We are fully insured, DBS Checked, regulated and members of accredited governing bodies.
Animal Assisted Interventions improves and supports peoples mental, physical, social and emotional functioning with the aid of animals
Depending on the needs of the individual, many different animals can be used in therapy, including horses (also called equine-assisted learning), rabbits, sheep, goats and other animals.
Our programs are tailored to each individuals needs to support growth and healing.
Our service can be tailored to take place in a variety of settings, including prisons, schools, hospitals and nursing homes.
We provide learning opportunities through unique and informative programs for experiences for all ages and abilities.
The learning support offered includes ASDAN courses, Equimotional courses and our own bespoke programs
We offer our services to schools and special educational needs settings.
We create a community, building relationships between people and animals which can support our own mental health, and others.
Nature and mental health are closely linked and often serves as solace, inspiration and support for well being.
Spending time in nature through our volunteering opportunities and support days is an amazing experience.
We are not for profit. Making our services accessible is at the core of our ethos. All monies created from events, donations or business support is put back into supporting our community.
SUPPORT A CHICKENOur Chickens cost just £5 each per month to look after - We currently have 10.
SUPPORT A GOAT HERE Just £18 is all it takes to look after each of our fabulous goats each month.
SUPPORT A BUNNY Your donation of £33 will give a happy, healthy home to a bunny for a month..
SUPPORT A PONY Your £40 donation will look after one of our gorgeous pony's for one month.
Animal Interactive Party – ages 7 yrs to 100yrs Available all year round at our Farm
Party times usually run from 10-12pm or 2-4pm pm weekends ,with time for eating the birthday food (supplied by yourselves) included in the last half hour. After school parties can also be arranged during the week subject to availability.
Animal activities will be run by your own personal party guides. Your guests will be greeted in the car park area and taken to the cabin for our Health & Safety briefing .
Activities include cuddling our sheep and goats, checking the chickens for an egg, feeding the alpacas , grooming and leading the ponies, handling of small animals like our bunnies, guinea pigs and reptiles .
Additional children must be arranged in advance (£30pp)
Tracks Woodland Party – ages 7 yrs to 100yrs
Woodland birthday parties offer children a unique outdoor adventure, combining celebration with nature-based activities and learning. Parties typically involve activities like fire-lighting, den building, campfire cooking, and exploring the woods. They also provide a chance for children to learn about nature, build confidence and develop social skills.
2 hr session at our private woodland site.
A Forest School inspired party run by our personal party guides , includes crafts and activities, for children to participate in. The crafts and activities will vary depending on age of children, the weather and season.
Campfire with our own made cooked pizzas which we prepare with the young people, with a selection of veggies for toppings, along with marshmallows to finish the party. All supplied as part of the package
We can supply vegan marshmallows on request.
A plastic-free, hand-crafted, woodland inspired party favour for each child to take away with them.
Woodland birthday card and birthday badge for your child
Please note that, unfortunately, the fire can only be used to prepare the food provided by us.
Woodland Parties are generally bookable for weekends from April to November in our Woodlands or all year round at the Farm. Times are 10am-12pm or 2pm-4pm.
Other days/times may be available upon request. Additional children must be arranged in advance (£30pp)
Does your child enjoy the outdoor life?
Then let them be a “Farmer 4 a Day”. It is aimed at all children from ages 7-16yrs.
The cost is £55 per child. Each session starts at 11am and ends at 3pm. We actively encourage adults to arrive 15 mins before the scheduled end, so the children can proudly show you what they have been doing!
Each of our handler will have a group of children approx the same age, so that the activities carried out will be suitable for that age group. The morning will start by ensuring all animals have fresh food and water.
Mucking out pens, collecting eggs and brushing the animals and learning to be a farmer this will result in the children ending the day tired and dirty!
Please make sure your child has a waterproof/old clothes and wellies. The children bring their own packed lunch and eat it in the cabin or outdoors in our picnic area., once they have thoroughly washed their hands in warm soapy water in compliance with current HSE guidelines.
A Farmer 4 a Day certificate will be waiting for each “farmer” at the end of the day!
These will be available in the school holidays and details of available dates will be emailed out to our mailing list alongside other activities that we do.
This can be any special day or evening, from a Birthday or Christmas event to a Wedding!
Imagine how special your day could be, with bridesmaids and pageboys pictured with gorgeous mini ponies, or having your child’s group having fluffy bunnies and Guinea pigs attend.
And lets be honest what is Christmas without a Shetland pony in a Santa hat?

In the presence of our therapy animals people tend to be less withdrawn and more in touch with their own feelings. Participating in these visits is one of the most rewarding aspects of being part of Kingswood Shetlands staff.
The emotional connections made between residents and ponies are beautiful to experience.
If you require a private session/workshops for something other than a birthday celebration, then please do get in touch to discuss your requirements. This could be for Scouting groups, Friendship groups, corporate well-being days, team building events, Hen and Stag dos with a difference and family connection sessions. POA
